Ran alongside the fastest bulls in N.J.

So I ran the Fete 10k in 54 minutes, twenty minutes longer than the first place winner. He happens to be an All-American Track competitor from Princeton U.
Still I had fun, still I ran on Scarlet's behalf, still I managed to run it under an hour. What a satisfiying moment it was for me to cross the finish line with a smile.

My running friend Cindy finished her race in an hour and five minutes, she is the one I trained to run the Indiannapolis Half marathon last May. We were in awe to find out the race results as they seemed unimaginable for a human body to endure such a fast pace for a 10 kilometer race.

After the race I decided that it was time for me to rest and to rest I have. I will not run any long distance races this summer, only one or two 5k's and that's it. However, once September arrives I will run the Philly half marathon and that will be it for this year as next year my intentions is to compete in my very first triathlon.

Running with the bulls.....

So it is now 4 weeks after my marathon and I'm feeling great, my swimming has improve to the point I can swim 25 meters with 5 breaths and compared for what I started with that's a total improvemenet if I say so myself.

Well, June is here and I have 8 days before my 2nd long distance run of the year. This race is called the June Fete 10k and its being sponsored by the Princeton medical center. This 10k is going to be my ultimate test of discipline and how much I want to succeed as a runner, and the reason is this: 75% of the field is composed of Elite runners, they are fast, they are disciplined, some are marathoners, some are tri's, but most of them have had more running experience than yours truly. Right now I'm terrified, as I don't really know if I will last that long of the race being that I've not rested since the NJ marathon.
I've training for the Philly Triathlon for about 4 weeks and I should really rest but everyone that knows me will always say " he never stops" but I've decided as for next week I will not go to the gym at all.
In 8 days I will be running with the bulls, wish me luck and we shall see what happens afterwards.....

As for the race itself I will proudly display my 0002 bib# on behalf of Scarlet and Madison Grace. Scarlet is a Melanoma fighter and baby Madison her daughter is a fighter also, she is a bundle of joy but was born a bit prematurely. I am very proud to run on their behalf as I know the Lord from above watches them 24/7/ 365

After the race I will rest totally as I'm thinking of running the Belmar 5 miler and that will be it for the summer races......

To be continued.
