So I rested a bit................
So here we are in the middle of summer and I have turned into a darker shade of brown due to the sun and my running.
Last week I was invited by a friend of mine to run a 10k in Delaware, which I went and did what I had to do but in the back of mind I knew not to have run that specific race for the sole reason that I had already signed up for the Robert Wood Johnson 5k in Hamilton, NJ.
I finished the 10k in a respectful 1:01.24 which left my knees crying for ice :D
So the day came to run the 5k, it was 7:10pm Thursday night and the gun went off, all I was thinking about were my knees and hoping they would hold up. 24 minutes later I was done, I ran with very fierce competitors, although I only received a t-shirt for my efforts I felt a sense of relieve as I was still able to walk and enjoy the post-race party.
Unfortunately last tuesday night after coming from the beach I fell down the stairs, apparently the side step really did something to my left knee as I couldn't put my body weight. The following morning I was taken to the doctor and they performed an x-ray which shows a crack in the front part of my left knee.
So now I'm resting, I'm not allowed to swim, run and or walk long distances but I'm able to stand by shifting my body weight towards the right leg.
All I can say now is the Lord from above struck me hard and now I'm forced to rest.
Oh well!!!!
life goes on!
